A good girl mask,
A good girl mask that never lasts.
First they dont know you, then they learn.
Learn what makes you tick,
What makes you burn.
See the sorrow and self doubt.
It shines in the eyes,
It leaves furrows on the mouth.
Always moving forward,
Wanting to go back.
A lightning bolt,
A thunder crack.
Always pain
Shhh...no one knows
Fake Smiles,
Tears that fall for miles.
Always pretending
Dont worry, it will be alright.
Always falling
Ups and downs
The mind is a yo-yo
Spinning round and round.
A cloudy gray backgrounds
Wait! Light is peaking through...
Another long day,
to fool people through.
I thought it would be fun
I thought it would be cool,
To be with this boy i barely knew.

Spending every summer together,
for as long as they could remember.
Then in a heart beat the time passed like seconds on a clock.
All childhood toys, hopes and games of make-believe were cast aside.
In a heart beat they were not children anymore.
No more playing laughing talking singing or gathering things on the shore.
For all they have left now are fond memories,
of that special bond of friendship they o
One very dark and beautiful night,
I wished on a star as he held me tight.
As he held me so close and near,
he whispered I love you dear.
Then he gave me a kiss to end the night.
So many things i wanted to say,
So many times i wished he could stay.
Oh, how i cried when he went away.
Even now i still hold tight,
Tight to the wish i made that night.
